I just finished Daring Greatly, written by the great, Brené Brown, Ph.D. and after highlighting most of the book, I landed on this quote:

"Much of the beauty of light owes its existence to the dark. The most powerful moments of our lives happen when we string together the small flickers of light created by courage, compassion, and connection, and see them shine in the darkness of our struggles."

Daring Greatly, Brené Brown, Ph.D. | Clarifying Intentions, Setting Boundaries, and Cultivating Connection; The Vulnerability Armory | p. 160

The beauty of LIGHT owes its existence to the dark. My walk in and through darkness has revealed a few things.... First: I am stronger than I know. And second: with time on my side, I am able to see some of these flickers of courage, compassion, and connection that have risen up.

Thank you, Brené, for putting words to this. And for the challenge to dare greatly.
